Italy, Used to the United States via Cuba: 1865, Victor Emmanuel II, 40c lilac, 2 fine copies, tied by "12" in dots cancel on envelope bearing FIRENZE 18 GEN 68 c.d.s. blue ITALIA c.d.s., blue boxed NE2 and probably red U.S. PAID c.d.s. on reverse, Italian transit and attractive blue HABANA 11 FEBR 1863 transit, to New York. Wonderful and extremely rare routing (Scott 32).
