Used to France: 1869, 15¢ brown & blue, type I, fine, tied by "horse" cancel on manila envelope (some back flap reinforcing) bearing black NEW YORK 18 transit, blue CALAIS 22 AVRIL 69 entry pink straight line INSUFFICIENTLY PAID, large "16" handstamp and manuscript "Steamer", on reverse PARIS receiver. Very scarce usage of a fancy cancel on a high value 1869 issue (Scott 118).
