Dominican Republic, 1866, Coat of Arms, 1r black on pale green, laid paper, watermarked, without gum as issued; "pressed out crease", large margins all around, still Very Fine, Moorhouse certificate (2011) (Scott 8).

One of the rarest stamps of the Dominican Republic. Of the three or four examples found in the Lilly, Caspary, Dale, Ferrari and the excellent S.G. sales, all had no gum and were creased. There was no example in the Hennan collection
