U.S. Stamps Used in Canada: 1857, 10¢ green, type I, tied by "21" in 4-ring cancel (Montreal) on neat envelope bearing MONTREAL JU 3 1858 receiver. The stamp unfortunately has "margin added top and left" and the envelope has a "repaired back flap", Foundation certificate (2013). Listed but unpriced in Scott (Scott 31).

The cover probably arrived uncancelled in Canada and was cancelled by the authorities there and continued on its path. The expense spent improving the cover reflects its incredible rarity .
