1840, 1d black SEVEN copies all with black Maltese cross cancels, Plates 1a (lettered "CH"), 1b ("DC"), 2 ("‘MI") with nearly perfect full MX, 3 ("SA") showing worn plate, 4 ("BL"), 6 ("PA") and 9 ("IF"). Black MX has a premium on plates 1a and 2. Margins wide to in at places; generally sound lot., ex Dillaway. SG 2; £3,925 ($5,360).
