Peru, Postage Due, 1884, 50c brown, PAIR tied to legal-size cover by 3-ring targets paying the 10x penalty, because the original grilled 10c gray was previously used, an ungrilled 10c was placed on and cancelled by LIMA 23 ENE 89 oval and a very rare ESTAMPILLA USADA applied, cover transited through CAJAMARCA (cds), and delivered to Hualgayoc. A fabulous cover and very amusing that someone tried to fraudulently mail a letter to a judge. Catalog value for a single 50c on cover $1000 (Scott J5, 26, 26a var.).
