Boyd's City Express, 1852, 2¢ black on green, die cut on extremely rare 1853-55 6c green entire on buff (U14), tied respectively in FEB 1850s hand stamp and SAN FRANCISCO 3 JAN c.d.s., addressed to and re-addressed in NYC. Very rare, Foundation Cert. (2013) (Scott 20L8, U14).

The 6¢ Trans Continental rate was in existance from July 1851 to March 1855. This cover had a window of just two years, 1853-1855. Our search has found only nine private mail combinations with the 6¢. Edwards & Dale-Lichtenstein Collections- 2 together: Knapp Collection - 4 of which none have been seen since: Total 9.
