Used to England/Italy: 1869 6¢ ultramarine, fine copy cancelled by segmented cork on white envelope bearing CAMBRIDGE MASS FEB 4 c.d.s. (ties stamp), red BOSTON PAID transit, LONDON FE18 receiver with an absolutely magnificent red B.F.STEVENS LONDON forwarder probably needed to deliver the letter to the "U.S. Frigate Sabine" which was no longer in London but in Italy, hence the manuscript "Naples Febry 23 1870" (Scott 115).
