April 7th 2011 Auction!    

     Two of the Greatest Names in the Philatelic Auction Industry will join forces at the ASDA Spring Postage Stamp Show in New York.  Our second public auction will precede the Kelleher Auction utilizing the same facilities. 

     This date confidently corresponds with the start of ASDA show in NYC, April 7-10, 2011

     Both viewing and the auction will be held at the New Yorker Hotel. (the same hotel as the show)

   Viewing available April 4th, 5th and 6th in the "Bank Room" at the hotel.

   The auction will commence at 10:00 am on April 7th in the "Bank Room" with afternoon lots available for viewing at Harmer/Kelleher booth on the show floor.

     Our April 7th 2011 Auction catalogue will be on-line soon.  To request a printed version, please contact our offices or complete a New Client Registration form.

    Viewing will be Monday the 4th,  Tuesday the 5th, Wednesday the 6th with limited viewing on the 7th.  Viewing begins each day at 10am and close at 5pm.  Appointments for before and after hours can be made by contacting our office at 212.532.3700. 

      Both the viewing and the auction will take place at the ASDA show headquarters, The New Yorker Hotel.  The hotel is conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan on 34th Street and the corner of 8th Avenue,  just across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.  

     
   

 

   

Recent Events

Consignments are arriving for our Next Auction in July 2011

     Plans are currently underway for a July 2011 public auction. While we will continue offering private auction and private treaty sales arrangements, with our Kelleher Auctions teaming arrangement, we can increase the frequency of our public auctions without compromising the quality of our material.

     Mr. Keith Harmer has begun accepting consignments for his Summer Auction.  Early consignments are particularly encouraged for large or complex collections.  Please contact our offices for more information or to schedule an appointment.

   

 

 

   

 

       Harmers International, Inc. offers a realistic assessment of the market value of a collection, based upon in depth professional knowledge and daily contact with the world’s philatelic centers.

 

     Appraisals are provided for all purposes including gifts, insurance, tax, probate or sale. Where appropriate, we will provide detailed recommendations of the most advantageous method and place of sale.

 

     We will also advise the client, without prejudice, whether any offer that has been received should be accepted.

 

      An appraisal from Harmers International. Inc. includes:

 1. A formal appraisal, duly notarized as required.

 2. Professional unbiased advise on selling.

 3. Full insurance coverage while in our possession.

APPRAISAL FEES

      On the first $50,000 of value                  2.5 %

      Portion of value in excess of $50,000       1.5%

     Minimum Charges:

      On Our Premises                                      $100

      In the NY Metropolitan Area                      $100 plus $150 per hour and Travel Expenses

     Outside the NY Metropolitan area call for pricing.

 

      Properties shipped to our premises for Appraisals MUST be insured by the client while in transit both to and from our facility, with a delivery signature required (see Shipping your Material). We will provide insurance whilst the collection is on our premises.

 

APPRAISALS FOR CAPITAL GAINS TAX

     “Estimated cost” appraisals can be supplied to Harmers International clients with a Capital Gains Ta liability. These are in the form of a letter advising the estimated cost based on such information ad the client can supply.

 

     The cost for an “Estimated Cost” Appraisal is $250 plus 1% of the net realization.

APPRAISAL REFUND

The appraisal fee is refunded if the property is consigned to and sold through Harmers International, Inc.
